Albania joins Council of Europe Eurimages

STRASBOURG

The Partial Agreement of the Council of Europe Eurimages is pleased to welcome a new member state, Albania, as of 1st September 2009, the Council of Europe says in a press release.
As a result, co-production projects involving a co-producer from Albania can be submitted to Eurimages for examination at the forthcoming meetings.

As Albania does not have access to the support mechanisms of the Media Programme, distributors from Albania can apply for support. In the same manner, exhibitors from Albania will be eligible for the Eurimages programme of support for theatres. Our digitisation programme is open to all member states.

EURIMAGES is a support fund for the co-production, distribution and exhibition of European cinematographic works, established by the Council of Europe in 1988.
