The Convention establishes the right of Moldovan citizens, that live along the Moldo-Romanian borders, to have access to Romania on the basis of some special permits.
On Tuesday, the Convention on small traffic at the borders between Romania and Republic of Moldova was concluded in Chisinau, after the parties had finished negotiating on the text.
According to the interim Minister of Foreign Affairs, Catalin Predoiu, „the improvement and consolidation of the relation with Republic of Moldova will be carried out through concrete actions”.
In the context of the above-mentioned document, the Romanian authorities “welcome the conclusion of the bilateral Convention on small traffic at the borders”.
The Convention establishes the right of Moldovan citizens, that live along the Moldo-Romanian borders, to have access to Romania on the basis of some special permits. They will be able to circulate inside Romania at a distance of at most 50 kilometres from the borders.
According to the deputy Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, head of the Moldovan diplomacy, the provisions of the Convention may enter into force by the end of this year.
