The support for Macedonia’s EU and NATO integration remains a vital element in US efforts to promote peace and stability in the Balkan region.
US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Gordon made the remarks during the debate, held by the Senate’s sub-committee for Foreign Affairs, titled „Unfinished business in South-east Europe, opportunities and challenges in Western Balkan countries“.
Former US envoy to NATO Kurt Walker and US Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs Alexander Vershbow have participated in the debate, where it was noted that it’s high time to achieve a compromise in name dispute and take measures to build trust.
