US supports pro-Western reform and efforts in Moldova

US Vice President Joe Biden yesterday made the highest-ranking US visit ever to Moldova, signalling Washington’s support for pro-Western reforms in Europe’s poorest country. Biden told Moldova’s liberal leaders its future lay with Europe and showed support for their efforts to end a protracted political and economic crisis.

“We are grateful to the United States for its support, for being with us during our 20 years of independence”, the liberals replied.
