UN envoy to Tobruk to "help" Libya unity govt talks

Tobruk – UN envoy Martin Kobler visited the headquarters of the internationally recognized parliament of Libya on Sunday to “help” with a confidence vote on a national unity government for the crisis-torn country.
“The eyes of the people of Libya are on Tobruk. They expect GNA. I am here today to help Tobruk, not to intervene, “Kobler tweeted referring to the bitterly fought formation of a national unity government.
Kobler held a meeting with parliament speaker Aguila Salah, the site of the reported parliament.
On Saturday, Prime Minister designate to Libya, Fayez al-Sarraj, presented the program of his unity government to parliament of the internationally recognized government.
“Members of Parliament discussed with the union government program proposed Presidential Council and the names of ministers,” said LANA news agency, which is close to recognized authorities.
Debate, which has often been “heated”, continued Sunday parliament before a confidence vote to be held on Tuesday.
The countries of North Africa was rich in oil rival administrations since summer 2014, when the government recognized fled Tripoli after an alliance of militias, including the Islamists overran the capital.
