Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili held an informal meeting with his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama on the sidelines of the 66th UN General Assembly session

On October 6-7, French President Nicolas Sarkozy will have a tour of South Caucasus, with visits to Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. The meetings with the South Caucasus states are expected to focus on cooperation perspectives and improvement of bilateral ties.

On September 8, a joint program was signed between Romania’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, State Secretary Anton Niculescu and Armenian ambassador Hamlet Gasparyan. The program envisages collaboration between the two countries in the fields of culture, education and science.
