Iran’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates said the present hues and cries by the Washington against Tehran results from Iran’s constructive cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the United States’ failure in Iraq. Hamid Reza Asefi made the remarks in a meeting with the UAE’s deputy prime minister Sultan bin Zayid al-Nuhayyan, where the two sides discussed the latest developments in the two countries’ bilateral ties and future prospects for the expansion of Iran-UAE cooperation.
During the meeting, the Iranian envoy viewed the growing trend of Iran-UAE relations as positive, and underlined Iran’s resolve and detailed plans for bolstering cooperation with the neighboring states.
He further said that arrogant powers are upset with the cooperation among regional countries, “and they have, thus, launched extensive propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
For his part, the UAE official described Iran as among the trustworthy partners of his country, and underlined firm determination of the UAE government to further consolidate brotherly ties with Iran.
He also praised Iran’s initiative and efforts to launch collective economic cooperation among regional countries through creating free trade zones, and described it as a significant step in materializing the interests of regional states.
The UAE deputy prime minister also pointed out that exchange of high-ranking delegations between the two countries would increase mutual confidence, and voiced his government’s readiness to accelerate such visits.
