European Commission (EC) representatives praised Albania on Tuesday (September 14th) for meeting three additional criteria of the EU visa liberalisation process that were established in May. Albania’s Interior Minister Lulzim Basha was in Brussels to discuss Tirana’s current process, focusing on fighting organised crime and corruption, as well as efforts to identify and freeze criminals’ assets. In a report published on Tuesday, the European Parliament (EP) noted progress achieved in Albania. The EP’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs will discuss the document on September 27th.
